The US announced an exemption for reciprocal tariffs on smartphones, PCs, tablets, servers, optical transceivers and other electronic products, according to CLSA's research report.

China is also included in the exemption. CLSA saw this as positive for Apple, PC and optical transceiver suppliers, and this should alleviate investors' concerns about Apple's supply chain.

Without the tariff impact, valuations of BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK), COWELL (01415.HK) and LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) would be at the bottom of the level, while valuations of AAC TECH (02018.HK) and LUXSHARE PRECISION(002475.SZ) would be relatively low, the broker noted.

The US tariffs will have little impact on SMIC (00981.HK) and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK), but their share prices have already been dragged down, CLSA added. The broker believed that the incident provides a better entry point for the market.
