CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) announced that it has recently discovered unauthorized logins to some accounts, resulting in personal data being accessed without permission and the theft of Asia Miles. The compromised personal data included identification information and travel details, but didn't involve credit card information. The airline has already reported the incident to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data and other relevant authorities. On top of that, it has engaged external experts to conduct a full-scale independent investigation. CATHAY PAC AIR has confirmed that the incident involved around 1,000 member accounts, most of which belong to Hong Kong members.
