BIDU-SW (09888.HK) is planning to apply for an expansion of its autonomous vehicle testing area from locations such as North Lantau and Tung Chung to Kai Tak, according to Ming Pao. If approved, this would mark the first time autonomous vehicles operate in the more densely populated Kowloon area of Hong Kong. The preliminary test route, as indicated by the report, is planned to start near the AIRSIDE mall at Kai Tak MTR Station, pass through Kai Tak Sports Park and the Runway Area, and end at the "Youth Post" hostel near the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal.
